IT MUST BE DONE... A few years ago I found myself involved in a story that needed telling, and so I set a lot of other things aside and began gathering snippets, writing drafts, outlines and chapters. It took a couple of years, but finally The Song of an Emerald Dove was completed -- and won an award. The wonderful reviews that I have received for it are important to me because it is a very important story and, although fictionalized in the book, it is a crusade of mine. I continue to organize my book-signing tour with the help of my publisher, spreading the word about The Song of an Emerald Dove and the true story behind it. I have already been able to travel to the Midwest, Florida, Long Island NY, and New England. I am very happy that it is reaching so many people, so tell your local bookseller to give me a call!

More than thirty years ago I was inspired by a life vignette that I encountered on the highway while I was traveling to work on a drizzly day. That image stuck in my mind for a very long time and I vowed to turn it into a country song in the tradition of Kris Kristofferson. In March 2009 I finally sat down day after day until I had molded it all into a lyric. My problem was that 1) I don't write music and 2) I have my very own way of "singing." That means I need a true country musician who can write a score/melody for my future CMA "Song of the Year." Through a dear friend out Arizona way, I'm in touch with a successful songwriter and we may get it all together in the very near future, but a friend of mine out in Nashville also says that, unless I pick up my pace, my body of work is really going to suffer!
